๐ Appearance
Garlic Kush Mints came from a fresh 3.5-gram Find. drop at Curaleaf, with this eighth made up primarily of smaller nugs and priced accordingly on the more budget-friendly side of the menu. The flower showed dense green coloration, bright orange pistils, and resin extending heavily across the surface. The clearest indication of just how tacky this batch was came during preparation. A small amount of flower completely stopped a freshly cleaned Santa Cruz Shredder, one of my regular grinders for breaking down flower. Resin transferred readily during handling, and the flower pulled apart with resistance rather than crumbling. Through the microscope, densely populated gland heads continued across the calyx surfaces and smaller leaf edges. The pliable cure, pronounced tackiness, and extensive resin coverage made the quality of the flower clear regardless of the smaller nug sizing.
๐ Aroma
Garlic dominates the aromatic side of this batch in a very literal way. After breaking apart and grinding the flower, my fingers smelled like I had just chopped a fresh clove of garlic for dinner. The aroma quickly carried beyond the immediate work area and filled the surrounding space with pungent garlic, gas, and spice. Sweetness sits underneath that stronger savory character and softens the sharper edges without taking over. Gas remains one of the clearest parts of the nose, while the garlic gives the batch its most recognizable signature. For flower picked up on the day of the drop, the intensity was exactly the kind of aromatic presence I hoped to find.
๐
Flavor
I liked the flavor immediately because the savory and sweeter elements come together particularly well. A GMO-like funk runs alongside floral notes, savory garlic, peppery spice, and an earthy dough character. The garlic stays recognizable through consumption, while the doughy earthiness gives the middle of the palate more weight. Pepper adds a sharper accent and the floral side brings a lighter aromatic quality around the heavier savory notes. The most delicate part arrives on the exhale, where a cool, refreshing mint note surfaces as a subtle finisher rather than a dominant flavor. That cooling note lands softly after the garlic, earth, and spice and gives the finish a noticeably fresher edge.
๐ง Effects
The onset was slow, especially compared with how immediate the aroma and flavor were. Early in the experience I noticed a pleasant mood uplift accompanied by a slight buzz behind the eyes. That mental change remained relatively light while the physical side gradually became more important. Relaxation continued building through the body until it developed into a much heavier, almost melting sensation. I was still able to stay engaged and on task, but by the later portion of the experience the physical weight was stronger than I personally prefer in the middle of the day. At a moderate dose, I found the combination useful when I was looking for relief while still wanting some mental presence. With additional consumption, the experience leaned much more toward winding down, and heavier doses could easily move into couch-lock territory for me. The progression from mood lift and behind-the-eyes buzz into deeper physical relaxation makes this feel better suited to late afternoon or evening than the middle of an active day.

Overall
Garlic Kush Mints is a good example of why I do not judge a release by nug size or price tier alone. This was a first-day Find. drop built primarily from smaller flower, yet the batch brought a level of tackiness strong enough to stop a freshly cleaned grinder, room-filling aromatics, and a flavorful savory-to-cooling progression that gave the cultivar plenty of personality. The effects also gave it a clear use case for me, beginning with a lighter mood shift and eventually settling into substantial physical relaxation that became increasingly heavy with dose. The COA documents 30.3% THC, 0.0616% total CBD, and 2.00% total terpenes. Genetics and breeder information were not listed at the time we did the review. For patients shopping for a cost friendly strain, this batch is a useful reminder that fresh nugs of all sizes and tiers can provide the benefits you are looking for on the menu at Curaleaf.
