We recently had Blue Thunder as whole flower, so trying the pre-roll version gave me a chance to revisit a strain that already made a strong impression. This 1g package contains two 0.5g pre-rolls, and the presentation immediately felt different from many standard pre-roll options. Rather than using a traditional cone shape, these are rolled as straight cylinders with a consistent diameter from the flower end down toward the filter. Both pre-rolls were packed evenly without obvious loose sections or compressed spots, and the construction felt clean and deliberate. The firm tips were another standout. They feel considerably sturdier than many thinner paper filters and seem much less likely to flatten or crush when carried around. Looking into the open end, the ground flower appeared evenly distributed across the roll.

Blue Thunder was already a familiar profile from the whole flower, and opening the pre-roll package brought that character back quickly. The aroma retained the balanced dessert and fruit qualities that made the flower enjoyable, with creamy sweetness sitting alongside berry-like fruit and a deeper background that keeps the profile from becoming overly sugary. One of the concerns I have with pre-rolls is whether enough of the original flower character survives grinding, rolling, and packaging to make the experience recognizable. In this case, there was still enough aroma coming through to clearly connect these pre-rolls with the Blue Thunder flower I had recently tried.

That background gives the release some additional identity beyond the strain itself. The biggest question for me was whether the pre-roll format would preserve enough of what made the original Blue Thunder memorable, and it did. The dry pull immediately brought back the familiar flavor profile, the smoke maintained its balance, and the effects developed with the same enjoyable pacing and staying power. I also appreciated the cylindrical roll, even pack, solid airflow, and firm tips make these feel well-built rather than like flower simply dropped into a standard cone. For anyone who enjoyed the original Blue Thunder flower, this is an easy way to revisit the cultivar in a convenient format without giving up the qualities that made it stand out.
