๐ Appearance
One large nug accounted for most of this eighth, with only a couple of smaller nugs needed to complete the 3.5 grams. The flower was dense and well formed, carrying rich green coloration, orange pistils, and a visible layer of resin across the surface. The trim left the natural shape of the bud intact and gave the larger flower a substantial presentation in the jar. At trichome level, the resin coverage becomes much more apparent. Trichome heads populate the calyxes and smaller leaf surfaces in high numbers, extending into the folds of the flower and showing the level of maturity I wanted to see from the batch. Between the size of the primary nug, the structure, and the consistency of the resin field, this was a strong presentation of Donny Burger.
๐ Aroma
This batch carried the savory Donny Burger character I have come to recognize from other versions in Florida’s medical program: pungent GMO-style funk, earth, pepper, and a heavier savory quality. What separated this jar was a brief sweet note right at the front. It was subtle and short-lived, but noticeable enough to give the first impression a slightly different character from the Donny Burger batches I have encountered before. I enjoyed that subtle variation. Once the sweetness passed, the deeper funk and spice became the dominant aromatic impression and kept the cultivar firmly recognizable as Donny Burger.
๐
Flavor
The sweeter character showed itself again during consumption, appearing briefly at the front of the palate before the savory side took over. Earth, pepper, and pungent GMO-style funk carried most of the flavor, with that short flash of sweetness giving this Curaleaf batch its own recognizable detail. The sweetness cleared quickly, leaving the deeper earthy and savory character to occupy the palate. It was a welcome variation on a cultivar I have already experienced from other Florida dispensaries and gave me another reason to keep comparing Donny Burger as different growers bring it to market.
๐ง Effects
Dose made a noticeable difference with Donny Burger. At a smaller amount, I felt an early euphoric lift with a playful, giggly mood. A body buzz followed, accompanied by a tingling sensation that developed into a relaxing wave beginning around my neck and moving downward through the body into my calves. Once that physical release settled in, tension through my head also began to ease. With additional dosing, the body effect became heavier and sedation became much more pronounced. At higher amounts, this batch was capable of genuine couch-lock for me. That range gave the cultivar two useful sides: lighter consumption favored mood, euphoria, and a pleasant body buzz, while heavier dosing brought substantially deeper physical relaxation and sedation.
โ
Overall
Donny Burger is becoming one of the more recognizable cultivars moving through Florida’s medical program, and seeing it appear at multiple dispensaries makes the differences between individual batches increasingly worth documenting. This release from Curaleaf delivered the dependable Donny Burger experience I was looking for while adding a subtle sweet opening that separated it from versions I have consumed elsewhere. The physical effects were especially distinctive. Euphoria and a giggly mood arrived first, followed by tingling and a relaxing wave that traveled from my neck through the body and down into my calves. Head tension eased as the physical relaxation deepened, and increasing the dose eventually shifted the experience toward pronounced sedation and couch-lock. The COA documents 23.2% THC, 0.0481% CBD, and 2.18% total terpenes. As Donny Burger continues appearing across Florida, I want to keep following it from grower to grower and batch to batch. Its core savory character and recognizable dose-dependent effects give us a useful benchmark, while details like the brief sweetness in this Curaleaf batch show why documenting each expression individually still matters.
