๐ Appearance
Kush Mints had strong bag appeal as soon as I opened the package. The buds were dense and compact with a mix of deep green and dark purple coloration, orange pistils running through the flower, and an extremely heavy layer of frost across nearly every visible surface. The resin coverage gave the buds a bright, almost sugar-coated appearance before I ever put them under magnification. Under the microscope, the trichome density became even more impressive, with tightly packed glandular heads covering the flower and remaining visible across the whole leaf. The darker purple sections underneath the clear and cloudy resin heads created a lot of visual contrast, while the green areas helped show just how completely the flower was coated. Between the compact structure, dark coloration, and extensive trichome coverage, Kush Mints looked every bit like the type of cultivar that immediately earns a closer inspection.
๐ Aroma
The aroma opens with a sharp, crisp herbal mint and menthol character that immediately gives Kush Mints its identity. Underneath that cooling first impression is a doughy cookie richness with earthy sweetness and a light woody quality that keeps the profile from feeling overly sharp. Breaking the buds apart makes the mint noticeably brighter and brings out more of the dessert side of the strain, with creamy pastry, vanilla icing, and a darker coffee or chocolate note becoming easier to pick out. There is also a faint gassy edge underneath everything that adds another layer without taking over the profile. What I liked about the aroma was how much it changed once the flower was handled. The jar starts out cool, minty, and herbal, but once the buds are broken open, the sweeter cream and pastry notes become much more obvious and give the strain a fuller personality.

Flavor
The flavor stays remarkably close to the aroma. The inhale starts with a smooth burst of cool mint cream that immediately reminds me of a fresh mint dessert, with enough sweetness to soften the menthol without covering it up. The creamy side of the profile gives the smoke a rounded texture and keeps the mint from becoming medicinal or overly sharp. As the exhale develops, the Bubba Kush side becomes more noticeable and moves the flavor toward earth, pine, wood, and a light spicy pepper note. A faint roasted coffee lingers after the exhale and gives the finish more depth than the initial mint-heavy inhale suggests. That transition is one of the better parts of Kush Mints for me because the strain does not stay stuck on one flavor. It moves from cool and creamy into something earthier and more traditional, giving the smoke enough variation to remain interesting throughout the session.
๐ง Effects
Kush Mints tested at 27.0% THC, 0.072% CBD, and 2.14% total terpenes. The effects developed in distinct stages for me. The first part of the experience was mentally bright, euphoric, and clear enough to keep me engaged rather than immediately pulling me toward sedation. That early mental lift made the strain feel creative and social, with a happy headspace that came on before the heavier physical side developed. Shortly after, a warm tingling body relaxation began spreading through the limbs and noticeably eased physical tension without instantly turning the session into couch lock. The balance worked well because the mental side stayed present while the body became increasingly relaxed. With larger amounts, I would expect that physical side to become much heavier, but at a moderate dose the strain maintained enough clarity to stay functional while still delivering substantial body comfort.

Overall
Kush Mints at Indiva combines Animal Mints ร Bubba Kush genetics into a profile that moves naturally from cool mint and creamy dessert notes into a deeper earthy Kush finish. Visually, the flower made a strong first impression with dense purple-green buds and extremely heavy trichome coverage, and the aroma followed with enough complexity to keep me going back to the jar. The sharp herbal mint becomes noticeably sweeter and creamier once the flower is broken apart, while the smoke carries that same progression from cool mint cream into pine, wood, spice, and faint roasted coffee. The effects followed a similar layered progression, beginning with a clear euphoric mental lift before settling into a warm and comfortable body relaxation. That balance is what made Kush Mints work especially well for me. It has enough potency to feel substantial, enough mental clarity to stay enjoyable before the heavier body side develops. The combination of appearance, aroma, flavor, and balanced hybrid effects made this a strong addition to Indiva’s menu.
